Michael Wahl, M.D., FACC

Dr. Wahl returned to his hometown of Denver in 2003 to join Aurora Denver Cardiology.  He spent 8 years at The Mayo Clinic with world leaders in interventional cardiology and echo imaging.  In addition to extensive clinical work, he investigated and published on multiple cardiac research projects.  One of his favorite projects worked on the development of intracardiac echo, allowing close-up imaging from within the atrium of the heart.  Another project improved the assessment of vulnerable plaque, helping to find cholesterol narrowing which would be prone to cause heart attacks.  He even helped pioneer the early development of virtual reality cardiac imaging with CT scanning.

Dr. Wahl actively practices at Denver area hospitals including Sky Ridge Medical Center, The Medical Center of Aurora, and Parker Adventist Hospital. He also travels to Hugo and Castle Rock to help with local cardiology needs.

Dr. Wahl is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.  His Board Certifications include Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.  He enjoys hiking, skiing, racquetball, and coaching soccer.  Dr. Wahl, his wife, and 3 children now happily reside near their original hometown in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains.
